Teledyne e2v Semiconductors SAS, based in Saint‑Egrève (near Grenoble), has been a recognized semiconductor specialist for more than 70 years.
Our 400‑employee site brings together research and development teams, production workshops, and support functions for two main business areas:
- Machine Vision Sensors (MVS) for image sensors, dental sensors, and cameras.
- High-Performance and High-Reliability semiconductor products: microprocessors, memories and high‑speed data converters.
We are looking for a Trade Compliance Manager position who wants to lead, influence, and help secure the compliant growth of our operations. If you want to work in an international, high‑tech environment where your expertise truly matters, this role is for you.
At our Saint Egrève site, you will play a central role in supporting cutting-edge technologies that have a real impact worldwide.
This role will be based in Grenoble, France with occasional travel to other sites in Europe as required. The role will be part of the trade compliance Digital Imaging segment and will report directly to the Trade Compliance Director, Digital Imaging, Europe.
This role will lead the development, implementation and management of processes, tools and trainings related to Trade compliance at the Teledyne e2v site in Grenoble with additional support required at other Teledyne locations in France as needed.
The trade compliance manager is responsible for leading the successful implementation of global trade compliance requirements in all functional areas at Teledyne e2v in Grenoble for the Semiconductor and Machine Vision Sensor Division.
He will serve as the primary global trade compliance point of contact for site leadership and operations personnel and must be well rounded in all trade compliance disciplines to effectively drive compliance.
This role will require high business acumen, active engagement, collaboration mindset, and forward-thinking involvement in business operations.
He will also play a key role in the strategic planning process and execution of day-to-day activities at Teledyne e2v site in Grenoble and other Teledyne sites, as required.
He must proactively identify risks and compliance challenges that may arise, support development of compliance solutions and development metrics and Key Performance Indicators to monitor the overall health of trade activities at the sites.
What you'll do
- Ensure legal compliance and provide trade compliance support within government rules and regulations, including appropriate export licensing for France and other Teledyne locations, as needed.
- Develop, implement, enhance and maintain trade compliance management systems, policies, and department procedures and work instructions.
- Serve as a French SBDU and DGA and US re-export EAR and sanctions regulations expert and provide guidance related to export control compliance requirements to non-US based business stakeholders.
- Implement standard practices and training programs that align with corporate trade compliance program requirements.
- Support trade compliance internal and external audits.
- Support trade compliance investigations and corrective action management.
- Responsible for working as a liaison between business functions including but not limited to Contracts, Business Development, HR and Engineering.
- Lead trade compliance-related process improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business senior leadership and stakeholders and inform these parties of statutory or regulatory changes in trade compliance.
- Effectively coordinate with cross-functional business groups to compliantly process international shipments according to the law and company policy.
- Coordinate with customs team and guide business with various customs related issues including but not limited to HS classification, valuation, carnets and country of origin determination pursuant to the law.
- Prepare all required export documentation as required to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Managing a team of 2 export and import compliance professionals

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or combination of education and experience).
- Proven direct experience with international trade regulations and/or compliance.
Key Skills and Competencies required:
- Strong leadership skills required. Previous people/program/project management experience highly desired.
- Previous experience in a similar capacity for a high tech/defence/aerospace firm with large shipment volume and licensing.
- Expertise in end-use/end-user assurance requirements and procedures in various national jurisdictions, including France/EU and the United States.
- Extensive experience with dealing with EU/French EU Dual Use and Military products and multilateral control regimes.
- Working knowledge of EAR and ITAR regulations, OFAC Sanctions, and Anti-Boycott requirements preferable.
- Knowledge of customs requirements including HS classification, valuation, country of origin requirements and carnets.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
- Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
- Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
- Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines; able to make sound and timely business decisions.
- Fluent in French and English.
This position requires access to export-controlled information or items (i.e. regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US regulations). Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
