Your Future Team Inside of Vehicle Technology there is a group within the Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management department that is responsible for the development of components for global platform and local trucks application. The group is part of a global network and works in close cooperation with other sites such as Sweden, USA, France and India. We are now looking for a Senior Thermal System Engineer to join our Thermal Management team within Function & Software Defined Vehicles. The Thermal System Engineer is responsible for leading the development of thermal system solutions globally throughout the product lifecycle, from concept definition and system architecture to validation and product release. This role requires a holistic understanding of thermal systems, their interfaces, and their integration within the complete vehicle, ensuring that customer, product, and system requirements are translated into robust technical solutions. The engineer will drive system engineering activities, evaluate and recommend technical concepts, manage system requirements, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality thermal system solutions aligned with product strategies and roadmaps. Responsibilities This position requires strong system engineering expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex thermal system development in a multidisciplinary environment. Define and develop thermal system architectures, concepts, and technical solutions aligned with product requirements and strategic roadmaps. Lead concept investigations, feasibility studies, and evaluation of alternative system solutions, providing recommendations based on technical, functional, and business criteria. Develop and maintain system, product, and functional requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the development process. Support product managers in translating capability needs into features, enablers, and technical requirements. Coordinate system integration activities and support component selection to ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and design targets. Define and execute system verification and validation strategies, including recommending suitable verification methods and analyzing test results. Lead technical reviews, develop technical reports, and maintain system technical documentation. Perform impact assessments for new requirements and engineering changes, considering both functional and physical system domains. Manage development plans, coordinate deliverables from multiple stakeholders, and drive activities to meet project milestones and release readiness criteria. Ensure system quality, technical maturity, and compliance with functional and non-functional requirements before release. Relevant Experience BSc/MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic engineering (or related field) Fluency in both written and spoken English. Strong knowledge of thermal systems engineering and system architecture. Experience with automotive thermal systems engineering and system architecture.  Experience with requirements management, system integration, and verification activities. Experience leading cross-functional engineering activities and technical decision-making.
