Senior Quality Engineer (Java)
(Hybrid/Kraków – 1 day per week in the office)

What's the job?
About the role We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for both developing and maintaining robust automated test suites. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams in a fast-paced Agile environment to ensure the highest levels of software quality.

Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize automation test scripts, ensuring adherence to best practices and seamless integration into the CI/CD pipeline. Facilitate skill development in automation where necessary.
Design and execute manual test cases for scenarios not covered by automation.
Ability to conduct back-end, API, integration, and regression tests to validate system functionality, performance, and stability.
Log, track, and prioritize defects, ensuring timely fixes and accurate documentation.
Provide input on testing scope, complexity, and effort during estimation and planning sessions.
Manage the entire testing lifecycle, ensuring full coverage and maintaining quality standards within the Engineering Squad.
Present test results and insights to stakeholders in "Show & Tell" sessions, highlighting product readiness and quality.
Resolve testing challenges efficiently, continuously improving processes.
What you'll bring
Demonstrated leadership in QA team management, work prioritization, and close cooperation with the Project Owner in planning, defining, and allocating QA activities
Extensive experience with Java for test automation (e.g. JUnit or TestNG frameworks)
Expertise in writing integration tests for REST services using RestAssured
Knowledge of mocking tools such as WireMock
Experience in working with Kafka
Proven track record of working in CI/CD environments (GitLab pipelines, Docker)
Experience with working in Git and handling efficiently Merge Request process
Knowledge of test case management systems and test reporting/metrics tracking such as Jira and Xray
Deep understanding of test automation strategies
Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and robust test frameworks
Strong knowledge of software quality principles, Agile methodologies, and continuous testing practices
Significant experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers
Ability to define a quality vision, establish testing strategy, and drive quality initiatives across the project lifecycle
Problem-Solving Skills
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling/Lighthouse/JMeter
Familiarity with Allure Report for advanced test result visualisation
Exposure to performance monitoring and observability tools (DataDog)
