The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally 0800-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). This is a fixed-term part time opportunity until July 2027 working the below roster across PM Ward, AM Ward and Day Clinic shifts: WK1 - Monday & Friday WK2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday WK3 - Thursday WK4 - Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday What you’ll do Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward settingWork collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionalsSupport Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care What you bring Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered NurseMinimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance) Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care Ability to work a 24/7 roster Who we are Serco supports governments by delivering essential services across defence, health, justice, maritime and community services.
