About Victoria Barracks Clinic
Victoria Barracks Clinic Melbourne is located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD at Southbank on St Kilda Road. Victoria Barracks is the headquarters of Victoria and Tasmania Defence and has a large portion of senior Defence members. Services include primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and pharmaceutical services to units within the Barracks and the inner Melbourne area. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements). This role is a part time every Wednesday’s & Thursday’s (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you ’ll do
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount
What you bring
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
One of the following:
ACMHN credentialed
Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
Minimum two years’ Post RN general registration experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
