Are you a friendly and personable Medical Receptionist looking to make a meaningful impact in a unique primary healthcare setting? This is a fantastic opportunity to provide essential clerical and administrative support to clinical staff within a multidisciplinary team, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare to Defence members. We’re looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our multidisciplinary team at Canungra Health Centre on a casual basis , providing backfill coverage for our permanent team members. Rostered days will vary depending on the site’s backfill requirements but will generally be Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm . This is where officers and soldiers in the Australian Army Intelligence Corps complete their initial employment training, and all-corps training is conducted throughout officer and soldier careers. It was established in 1942 for Army jungle warfare and infantry training. It was closed from 1948 – 1954, however reactivated during the Vietnam War. Services provided include primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday. Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this role. What you’ll do Keep the clinic running smoothly by providing fast, accurate, and professional clerical and administrative support to health staff and patients. Manage electronic and hard copy health records and data in accordance with Defence policies, privacy requirements, and compliance standards. Coordinate appointments and liaise effectively with internal and external health service providers to support continuity of care and timely access to patient information. Prepare reports, update health and personnel management systems, and assist with auditing activities to support operational and compliance requirements. Support day-to-day clinic operations through filing, mail distribution, photocopying, ordering stationery and stores, and processing supply requests. What you bring Minimum of 1 year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in an administrative role. (Medical setting highly desirable) Completion of a medical terminology course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or willingness to complete Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Sound computer literacy and experience with electronic health record systems highly regarded.
