NXP Semiconductors is seeking a New Graduate Agentic AI Software Engineer to join our AI software development organization. In this role, you will contribute to the development of agent‑based AI software solutions leveraging state‑of‑the‑art foundation models and modern software engineering practices.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and validate AI software components that enable intelligent, autonomous, and scalable systems.

Missions:

  • Design, develop, and maintain agentic AI software components under guidance from senior engineers

  • Investigate and prototype novel approaches for AI agent reasoning, planning, tool usage, memory, and self‑improvement

  • Apply emerging agentic AI techniques to improve robustness, performance, and scalability of software solutions

  • Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and technical reviews

  • Execute experiments to evaluate AI agent behavior, performance, and reliability

  • Collaborate across software, research, and product teams to deliver high‑quality solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence / Machine learning

  • Fundamental understanding of Machine learning, deep learning, Large language models (LLM) and modern AI architectures

  • Basic understanding of Agentic concepts and autonomous systems

  • Familiarity with Prompt engineering, Fine‑tuning vs inference‑time control, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)

  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles

  • Proficiency in Python programming

  • Familiarity with Linux development environments and version control (Git)

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic or project experience with:

    • AI agent frameworks or autonomous systems

    • Prompt engineering, tool calling, or workflow orchestration

    • Retrieval‑augmented or knowledge‑based AI systems

  • Exposure to:

    • embedded development environments

    • Testing or evaluation of AI models and systems

  • Internship, thesis, or research experience in edge AI, agentic AI
