Job Description
EMEA Recruitment is partnering with a leading oil and gas client to recruit an Internal Auditor in Geneva, Switzerland.
This role is responsible for leading and conducting on-field audits, gaining first-hand insights into operations and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities of the Internal Auditor:
Plan and deliver risk-based internal audits across multiple business functions, including on-site and remote reviews
Assess operational processes and internal controls, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards
Review financial crime and regulatory control frameworks, including customer due diligence, sanctions, anti-bribery and anti-money laundering processes
Prepare clear audit reports with practical recommendations and support stakeholders in implementing agreed actions
Conduct root cause analysis of operational risk events and recommend sustainable control improvements
Analyse operational and risk data to identify trends, emerging risks and areas requiring enhanced oversight
Partner with business teams to develop effective risk assessment criteria and strengthen the overall control environment
Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA) is a plus
Min. 3 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or related field within the energy commodity trading industry
Proven experience supporting audits and understanding complex operations to deliver comprehensive and risk-based audits in short periods
Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions regulations, trading controls, UK Bribery Act, and trade compliance.
Full proficiency communicating in English in a business context (verbally & in writing)
Willingness to travel, min 30%
