As a Gas Safe Engineer in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you'll play a vital role in keeping essential gas systems safe, compliant and fully operational within HMP Doncaster. Your expertise will help maintain a secure, reliable environment that supports the effective delivery of public services every day. Working across a varied technical estate, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, repairs, testing and installation work that directly contributes to the safety and wellbeing of everyone on site. What you'll do as a Gas Safe Engineer Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, testing and repairs on gas systems, plant and associated equipment. Diagnose faults and undertake defect rectification to maintain safe and efficient operation of assets. Install new plant and apparatus in line with technical specifications and operational requirements. Support colleagues across the maintenance team with a range of building services and engineering activities. Investigate equipment performance issues and provide recommendations to improve reliability and efficiency. Maintain accurate maintenance records and support the management of tools, materials and spare parts. Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota and respond to operational requirements as needed. Follow all statutory regulations, site procedures and health and safety requirements at all times. Does this sound like you? Hold a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent trade-based qualification. Commercial gas qualifications including CDGA1, CIGA1, CoDNCO1, CORT1, ICPN1 and TPCP1 are desirable. Commercial catering Qualifications CCCN1,CODC1,COMCAT1,2,3 & 5 also any manufactures courses eg. Rational Electrolux Able to work independently, prioritise workloads and solve technical problems using sound judgement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively. Competent in the use of databases and maintaining accurate records.
