The ArcelorMittal Research Centre in Montataire (60) is in charge of promoting the new steels developed by ArcelorMittal in the automotive industry. To do this, we work with car manufacturers to help them use these steels, in particular by developing new concepts for automotive parts and validating these new concepts in terms of in-service properties, ability to be manufactured and assembled in a vehicle. We are also working on innovative processes for the manufacture of the parts themselves and the tools that make it possible to manufacture them (stamping tools for example).
You will join the "Automotive Forming Techniques & Applications" team, in charge of feasibility studies in the manufacture of parts and the development of new forming techniques.
Your role:
You will be in charge of medium/long-term research projects and support to customer teams (feasibility validations, recommendations).
You will work on different steel sheet forming technologies (cold and hot drawing) in order to promote our steels to automotive customers, in support of ArcelorMittal's customer teams.
You will participate in various research projects including both experimental tests and numerical simulation work.
You will contribute to the optimization of forming processes, the qualification of forming tools, the study of emerging forming processes and the improvement of numerical simulation tools.
You will participate in technical assistance actions for our customers as well as in collaborative projects with other companies and university laboratories.
You will work within the ArcelorMittal Research network, including different teams (part design, assembly) and different Research Centers in Europe and around the world (USA, Canada,...).
Your profile:
- You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. A PhD would be a plus.
- You have experience in car industry.
- You have knowledge in numerical simulation software (AutoForm, PamStamp, Ls-Dyna, Abaqus...).
- You have good skills in mechanical, thermal and material mechanics.
- You have applied and customer-oriented research skills.
- You are fluent in French and English.
- You have good communication skills.
- You have some knowledge in Artificial Intelligence.
