ERP Technical Delivery Analyst Hybrid - Attached to the Solihull, Hook or London office Full Time, Permanent Band 4/ £65,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience) Job Overview: Serco is seeking an ERP Technical Delivery Analyst to act as a technical authority and assurance role across its SAP‑centred ERP landscape. This is not a hands‑on build or consultancy role; it is a delivery, assurance, and risk‑management position operating within a vendor‑led support and delivery model. The role sits within the ERP Technical team and is accountable for assuring solution quality, technical stability, and delivery risk across projects and BAU, working closely with strategic partners (including Capgemini) and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Technical Assurance & Delivery Oversight: Act as a technical lead and design authority representative for ERP initiatives, directing and assuring third‑party vendors rather than delivering day‑to‑day configuration. Provide technical assurance that ERP solutions are fit for purpose, supportable, secure, and aligned to Serco architecture standards before go‑live. Advise ERP leadership on technical risks, dependencies, and constraints across delivery plans and live services. Support major platform transitions and modernisation initiatives (e.g. RISE, cloud services, integrations). Project & BAU Support: Provide technical oversight for ERP projects and significant (P1/P2) BAU incidents, coordinating investigations across SAP Basis, infrastructure, integrations, and partner platforms. Lead root‑cause investigations into complex technical or integration issues, bringing structure, direction, and assurance to vendor‑led resolution activities. Operate across a heterogeneous ERP estate including SAP ECC, SRM, PI, BW on HANA, MS SQL, Azure‑hosted services, Opentext Cloud, and third‑party tools. System Management: Ensure systems are patched, analyse issues, and guide resolutions. Engage with Change Management processes within the ERP landscape, supporting environment, implementation, and release management activities. Oversee system tuning, performance monitoring, and improvement efforts. Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Work closely with internal ERP, Platform, Integration, and Security teams to align design and delivery. Build effective working relationships with third‑party vendors, holding them to account for quality, documentation, and delivery outcomes. Participate actively in Design Authority and governance forums, ensuring technical decisions are documented and defensible. Qualifications & Experience: Essential Experience: Significant experience (typically 7+ years) supporting and assuring complex SAP landscapes within vendor‑led or outsourced models. Strong SAP technical foundation (e.g. SAP Basis, platforms, integrations, cloud hosting) with broad functional awareness. Proven experience operating in assurance, oversight, or technical leadership roles, rather than pure build or advisory positions. Experience explaining technical risks and constraints to non‑technical stakeholders and senior leadership. Desirable Experience: Exposure to SAP RISE, S/4HANA, or major ERP transformation programmes. Experience with third‑party SAP‑adjacent products (e.g. Opentext, EPI‑USE, BW, integration platforms). SAP BASIS certification. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards, latest products, and best practices in ERP systems. Experience in working with non-SAP and SAP partner products to deliver integrated solutions. Experience managing offshore/outsourced system integrator relationships for both BAU and project delivery is beneficial. Experience with transformational SAP programs is advantageous. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, explain technical risks, issues, and solutions to non-technical teams. Who This Role Is For (and Who It Isn’t) This role will suit someone who: Enjoys technical oversight, decision‑making, and risk ownership Is comfortable directing and assuring vendor delivery rather than doing hands‑on configuration Can balance technical depth with stakeholder engagement and governance responsibilities This role is not suited to candidates seeking: A predominantly hands‑on SAP Basis or development role A pure consultancy or advisory position with limited operational accountability Why Serco: Meaningful and vital work: In this position, your work is vital to the business, in terms of decisions and growth.
