About ACT Health Centre
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally 0800-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
What you’ll do
Maintain and clean JHU vehicles (including ambulances) and ensure equipment is operational.
Perform basic first aid when needed and routinely check/test equipment and systems.
Transport patients (non-emergency) and deliver medical, pharmaceutical, and general supplies between facilities.
Manage medical and general inventory: ordering, receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching items.
Replenish first aid kits under supervision and handle surplus stock returns.
Support maintenance, repair, calibration, and tracking of medical/dental equipment.
Coordinate equipment loans and hires in line with policies.
Follow Defence procedures, including audits and inventory/accounting compliance.
What you bring
Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, stores, or transport.
Valid driver’s licence and current First Aid HLTAID011 and CPR HLTAID009 certification required.
Warehouse, patient transport experience, and forklift licence are a bonus.
Keep licences and certifications up to date and continue professional development.
Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
