PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of plant equipment through effective preventative and corrective maintenance practices. The role includes troubleshooting mechanical failures, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.Minimum qualification:Grade 12 (Matric).Qualified Fitter or Millwright with a recognized Trade Test. Required profile :DELIVERABLES/KPAsDiagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.Perform planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities on plant equipment.Service, overhaul, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery.Attend to overhead crane maintenance and breakdowns (up to 30-ton capacity).Conduct care, maintenance, and repair of blanking dies and associated tooling.Execute maintenance and capital improvement projects.Participate in standby and call-out duties as required.Conduct routine equipment inspections and safety audits.Identify and implement equipment upgrades to improve reliability, productivity, and maintenance cost efficiency.Carry out preventative maintenance task via a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).Ensure compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and legal requirements.Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance.COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLSMaintain a strong safety culture and comply with all SHE requirements.Execute maintenance activities to a high standard of workmanship and quality.Minimum 3-5 years' post-trade experience in a manufacturing, processing, or industrial maintenance environment.Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and rotating equipment maintenance.MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK SHIFTS and OVERTIMEExperience in crane maintenance and tooling/die maintenance will be advantageous.Some electrical knowledge would be advantageousIf you wish to apply, please forward your CV and a letter of motivation to Stuart Meyer or via e-mail to [email protected] .
