BUSINESS SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR
Location: HMP Fosse Way, Wigston, Leicester LE18 4TN
Salary : £26,510 per annum plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm

As a Business Services Administrator in our J&I team, you will support the Governance, Audit and Compliance function at HMP Fosse Way. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with Ministry of Justice and Serco requirements, maintaining accurate records, and supporting high standards of performance and assurance across the establishment.
What you’ll do as a Business Services Administrator
Provide effective administrative support to the Governance department
Maintain accurate records across internal and external systems (including HUB and NOMIS)
Support governance activities relating to incidents, complaints, correspondence, audits, compliance, performance data, compensation claims and Data Subject Access Requests
Collate performance data, produce reports and respond to information requests within agreed timescales
Support external inspections and audits, including HMIP visits
Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. HMPPS, IMB, MQPL)
Ensure all work is carried out in line with statutory, contractual, security, health & safety and equality requirements

Previous Administration experience in an office environment essential
Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A professional, approachable and solutions-focused attitude
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
High levels of integrity, resilience and attention to detail

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance , which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance . You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
