Job Description:
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Business Accounting Specialist (f/m) to join our Financial based in Toulouse, France.
The role ensures that all accounting requirements are accurately applied and understood, supports controlling teams in resolving accounting-related questions, and contributes to audit readiness by providing clear justifications of accounting treatments. The position collaborates closely with consolidation team, country accounting teams, technical accounting experts, and external auditors

Your Challenges
Leadership and Coordination:
Act as primary accounting contact for Controlling teams, providing guidance and resolving accounting-related questions.
Coordinate with Controlling Program teams to understand operational impacts and translate them into correct accounting entries
Collaborate with Consolidation and Country Accounting teams to ensure aligned and consistent reporting across regions
In any case, being the focal point with Technical Accounting for AD&S Accounting and Controlling teams
Accounting and Technical Expertise:
- Apply IFRS/GAAP accounting standards to ensure accurate treatment of business transactions
- Analyse complex contracts and Support technical accounting assessments in collaboration with national Accounting teams and Group Technical Accounting for their correct assessment (IFRS 15 review).
- Review and validate accounting requirements for new or existing business programs and financial processes designing more efficient accounting and reporting schemes to reduce complexity.
- Identify and analyse discrepancies, proposing actions to optimize accounting process performance.
Reporting, Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure an adequate level of internal control in complex and/or transnational contracts.
- Prepare accounting documentation to support audits and justify applied accounting treatments
- Address auditor questions in coordination with internal teams to ensure smooth audit processes
- Ensure the consistency of auditable information on key programmes, including centralising the quarterly consolidated accounting for key programmes and balance sheet exposure
Support and Continuous Improvement:
Support the preparation of key closing topics (KCTs) organising and preparing the consolidated closing’s meetings to be held.
Translating financial information into fulfilling the deliverables towards the group, including a consistent presentation of KCT and disclosures.
Assist in the implementation of processes and accounting rules for the preparation of monthly financial statements. Identifying gaps or inefficiencies in accounting processes and propose improvements.
Contribute to standardization of accounting procedures across programs and countries
Promote the digitalization and harmonization of processes across all entities.
Participating in the Bid process for major contracts and contributing to overseeing the correct application of accounting principles
Your Profile:
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, audit, or similar finance environments.
- Experience interacting with controlling, audit, consolidation, or technical accounting teams is highly desirable.
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 15 familiarity is a must)
- Solid experience with general ledger accounting and period-end close processes
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
Soft skills
- Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining accounting matters to non-accountants
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders (Managers, Senior Managers, Technical Accounting).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable working across teams and countries.
This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
