Underwriter Energy Milan, Italy You will join the Italian Property, Energy and Construction Underwriting team having the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients to provide an innovative and bespoke underwriting service. Each risk we consider is unique which means our clients and brokers should enjoy the best practice, market leading experience of working with us. In your Underwriter role you will be responsible for writing new and renewal Energy business for an allocated range of clients across the book, working with brokers and clients in support of the profitable growth of a portfolio in line with the agreed Business Plan. By representing AXA XL Italy on the market, you will develop high quality levels of relationships with brokers, clients and colleagues (Claims, Operations and transversal functions). This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime. What you’ll be DOING What will your essential responsibilities include? Underwrite Energy business within the agreed business plan and individual authority: reviewing submissions including applications, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports while conducting appropriate research to determine the degree of risk for each account. Calculating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the sector, reinsurance cessions as well as the Underwriting and general administration costs while ensuring profitability. Proactively advising, assisting, servicing, and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance requirements. Seek, identify and develop opportunities for profitable business with new and existing customers. Effective relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross-selling offered products and ensuring account retention. Collaborate with the Distribution Team by providing an effective and efficient service. Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards. Supporting the business planning and forecasting process; monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits; monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits. Pass all necessary and accurate information on to Operations colleagues for them to ensure the correct release of policies and/or implementation of programs. Maintaining awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims. You will report to the Underwriting Manager Property, Energy & Construction, Italy What you will BRING We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Experience in undewrwiting Energy business and good insurance market knowledge Communicate and work in English and Italian Understands stakeholders’ needs and concerns and identifies points of agreement. Efficiently manages the interactions with other parties in the organization and in the market. Know and use selling and negotiation techniques; adapt to the customer's situation, needs and behavior. Explores different alternatives and influence the other parties to reach an agreement with positive outcomes for all. Analytical skills to perform fact-based analyses on risks, simple or complex Work in team with colleagues of different seniority and expertise to achieve collective goals.
