Description and Requirements Can you turn customer challenges into elegant, high‑performing infrastructure solutions? Do you get energized by collaborating with sales teams and partners, shaping architecture, and guiding them toward the right technical path? And most importantly, are you ready to help shape the future of AI‑ready infrastructure across EMEA? If you’re passionate about designing end‑to‑end solutions that span compute, storage, networking, hybrid cloud, and modern AI workloads, then this role may be the perfect next step for you. As we are expanding our EMEA pre‑sales capacity, we’re looking for hands‑on Technical Pre‑Sales Engineer who thrive on translating business needs into technical clarity and enjoy being at the center of customer conversations, partner enablement, and solution design. What will you do in this role? Provide technical pre-sales support for Lenovo ISG (Infrastructure Solutions Group) opportunities across EMEA (internal teams + external channel partners). Translate customer requirements (RFPs, requirement statements, sizing inputs, constraints) into solution architectures and bill-of materials (BOM) configurations. Build accurate configurations using Lenovo tools/configurations; validate compatibility, performance, and scalability assumptions. Produce technical outputs: solution proposals, sizing documents, high-level designs, RFP responses, competitive comparisons, and configuration justifications. Run partner enablement: deliver technical briefings, configuration “how-to” sessions, and reusable playbooks/templates. Support opportunity qualification: ask discovery questions, identify risks/assumptions (power/cooling/rack, security, latency, resiliency), and recommend next steps (workshops, POC plans). Collaborate with specialists (storage/HCI/AI/HPC) to assemble end-to-end solutions and ensure consistent messaging while providing feedback to product management and services teams based on field/partner learnings. Maintain a library of reusable assets (reference architectures, configuration patterns, FAQs, competitive notes). What We’re Looking For: 3+ years in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical account roles in enterprise IT (vendor, partner, or SI). Proven ability to design and configure infrastructure solutions (not just individual products), explain tradeoffs clearly and strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure fundamentals: compute, storage, networking, virtualization, resiliency. Experience responding to technical customer requests: RFP/RFI inputs, sizing data, constraints, and architectural requirements. oriented communication. Ability to produce crisp technical deliverables (slides/docs) suitable for customers and partners. Fluent English (written and spoken), another major European language (French, Spanish, German, Italian) is a plus. Depth in one or more of the following areas would be highly valued: artificial intelligence solutions, enterprise storage, high-performance computing, HCI or virtualization. Familiarity with one or more competitor ecosystems (e.g., Dell, HPE, NetApp, Pure, VMware alternatives), exposure to Kubernetes/containers and modern data platforms is a plus. Knowledge required in 1 or more of these areas: Compute: x86 servers, virtualization platforms, GPU accelerated systems for AI inference/training. Storage: block/file/object concepts, performance sizing, data protection/DR/replication; (Lenovo + 3rd party ecosystems). HCI/Private Cloud: hyperconverged stacks, virtualization modernization, hybrid cloud patterns. Networking: Ethernet fabrics (25/100GbE), basic design considerations for low latency and throughput. AI-ready infrastructure: GPU sizing basics, data pipelines for AI/RAG, monitoring and operational considerations. Services & lifecycle: deployment services, support contracts, consumption/financing options, sustainability considerations. What do we offer you?
