Where you will work The Technical Specialist provides critical underwriting support within the UW Service Center unit, assisting with submission clearance, documentation, and day-to-day operations across the underwriting lifecycle. The role involves timely processing of new and renewal submissions, loss runs and credentialing requests, and the preparation of binders, endorsements, and regulatory notices. The Specialist acts as a key liaison among Underwriters, Middle Office, Shared Services, Brokers, and other internal and external partners to ensure data accuracy, compliant policy issuance, and high-quality service. The position combines technical expertise with innovation, leveraging AI and automation to streamline processes and enhance the customer experience. What you will be doing What will your essential responsibilities include? Provide underwriting support for the UW Service Center across the full underwriting lifecycle, from submission clearance to policy issuance and renewals where applicable. Process submissions promptly and accurately, manage the internal submission mailbox, and collaborate with Underwriting, Middle Office, and Shared Services to respond to inquiries. Gather, validate, and organize information from brokers, clients, reinsurers, Shared Services, IT, Claims, and Accounting to support risk analysis and issuance. Prepare and process policy documentation (binders, endorsements, rating/coding, regulatory notices), including urgent/rush requests. Maintain quality control over output from Shared Services; perform quality reviews before broker/client release. Maintain and update process manuals, reference documents, and training materials; provide new/refresher training to staff as needed. Keep electronic files accurate and well-organized to support audits, regulatory requirements, and internal controls; support renewal preparation and process improvements; participate in User Acceptance Testing where applicable. Act as a liaison across functions and geographies to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery; monitor account information/status, escalate issues as needed, and support reporting or metrics as directed by leadership. Demonstrate and continuously develop AI acumen by identifying, testing, and adopting approved AI and automation solutions that enhance underwriting support processes, improve client and broker experience, reduce manual effort, and drive operational excellence while adhering to governance, compliance, and responsible AI standards. You will report to the Operations Manager. Internal Control Compliance: Understands and consistently adheres to internal controls, processes and guidelines, keeping audits in mind. Essential Position Information: This is a hybrid position. Currently our hybrid model consists of 3 days in office (one of those days must be a Monday or a Friday) the other two days can be worked remotely. The US base salary range for this position is USD 46,800 - 73,900. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
