Teledyne e2v Semiconductors SAS, located in Saint-Egrève (near Grenoble), has been a semiconductor specialist since 1955.
Our 400‑employee site brings together research and development teams, production workshops, and support functions for two main business areas:
Machine Vision Sensors (MVS) for image sensors, dental sensors, and cameras.
Semiconductors for microprocessors and high‑speed data converters.
Job Description
The strategic buyer will join a procurement team of five people, including supplier quality engineers and both direct and indirect material buyers and will report directly to the procurement manager.
This recruitment is to replace a departing team member, and it is also a great opportunity to rethink our team organization to strengthen our positive impact within the Teledyne organization.
We produce semiconductor products for several industries, including space, aerospace, and defense. These are high‑reliability products with demanding constraints.
In this position, you will be involved in new projects and work closely with our R&D and marketing teams. It is essential to understand the business environment and customer requirements to ensure that all constraints are properly communicated to our partners.
We must maintain strong relationships with our key partners to provide the right solutions to our customers. Close collaboration with the sales team is also crucial.
What You’ll Do
Search for, select, and manage suppliers in line with the purchasing strategy developed by the company in an international context ·
Maintain supplier service levels that meet the company’s needs in terms of cost, lead times, quality, and innovation.
Main activities
Sourcing & Supplier Management
Gather customer requirements, identify and select suppliers that meet the company’s service/product needs
Negotiate contractual terms enabling the execution of service/product offerings
Conduct technology watch to ensure alignment between technical proposals and the company’s needs
Lead strategic negotiations with significant impact on the company
Analyze, anticipate, and manage risks related to the macroeconomic and geopolitical environment that may affect supplier performance
Carry out “Make or Buy,” “Total Cost of Ownership,” and “Design to Cost” analyses in collaboration with the relevant service teams to support the organization’s strategic decision-making
Execution
Carry out purchasing process operations: gather and define requirements, contribute to drafting specifications, select suppliers, negotiate, place and monitor orders
Initiate and develop interfaces with Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, Legal, and Finance teams to optimize overall information flows and the company’s operational efficiency
Manage “supplier crises” (delays, shortages…)
Continuous Improvement
Measure performance and implement continuous improvement plans with suppliers
Plan and co-lead supplier audits in collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineers
Propose alternative solutions that can meet the needs of internal customers
Support, advice, and contribution to the training of Level 1 Buyers
Actively participate in the definition and steering of the purchasing strategy in alignment with strategic management.
What You Need:
You are fluent in English, open to occasional travel, and bring prior experience in procurement—preferably within a high‑constraint or highly regulated industrial environment.
Knowledge of SAP and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is an asset.
