Join a company that makes a difference
Since 1937, Ambu has developed, manufactured, and sold medical devices that are now used by millions of patients and healthcare professionals worldwide. At our headquarters in Ballerup, you’ll join a fast-paced innovation culture where your contributions directly impact our growth and the quality of patient care. We are now looking for a skilled and proactive FPGA engineer to join our Platform Innovation team within the Software and Electronics department. You will be part of our Electronics Team, responsible for the electronics in our visualization devices.
Key responsibilities
As a FPGA Engineer, you will play a key role in product development projects, leading FPGA design implementation and verification efforts. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver robust and innovative solutions for real-time and safety-critical systems. Your main tasks will include:
Leading FPGA development activities within cross-functional projects
Designing, implementing (and verifying) FPGA solutions for high-speed video interfaces (e.g., PCIe, MIPI, DisplayPort, HDMI, SDI) and memory interfaces (e.g. DDR4)
Collaborating with hardware engineers on architecting, integration and bring-up of custom heterogeneous (FPGA/GPU/CPU/MCU) computing platforms

5+ years of experience in FPGA development (either VHDL or Verilog, both are relevant)
Solid experience with high-speed (video) interfaces (e.g. PCIe, MIPI, DP, HDMI, SDI, DDR4)
Familiarity with AMD/Xilinx FPGA tools and platforms, mainly Vivado (but preferably also Vitis Embedded and/or Vitis HLS) and the Ultrascale+ family of devices
Familiarity with the basic instruments of an electronics lab to troubleshoot/debug/profile our custom boards
Experience with Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub) is a plus
Knowledge of medical device standards (IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 62304) is a plus
Familiarity with computer vision (from image sensor technologies to basic image pre-processing) is a plus
Strong communication skills in English
