Senior Data Scientist

Pioneer of online flash sales since 2001 and key player in European e-commerce, Veepee collaborates with over 7,000 brands to offer highly discounted products available for a limited time. Operating across various sectors, including fashion, home, wine, travel or beauty... Veepee achieved a turnover of 3.3 billion euros incl. VAT in 2024 and employs 5,000 staff members across 10 countries.

As a data scientist at Veepee, you will join our Data Science Team of 20 people, fully cloud-native and distributed between Paris, Barcelona and Brussels.

Your main mission will be to build, deploy and maintain state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms. A key focus of this role is the improvement of our price recommendation algorithm — a strategic initiative to optimize margin per visitor.

You will also contribute to other core topics such as demand forecasting, product recommendation, genAI pipelines, image recognition…\n

🎯 TASKS

• Build and improve the data science stack
• Create insights and visualizations of data
• Train machine learning models at scale in a cloud environment
• A/B test your ML models on the website and learn from the results
• Write production-ready code
• Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, adapting the level of technical detail to the audience
• Keep improving your technical knowledge and expertise by attending conferences, contributing to open-source projects, organizing and attending meetups and internal learnshops.

  
  👉 MUST HAVE skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in data science (after end of study)
  • Education: top engineering school in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant technical field
  • Strong statistical, analytical and deep learning skills
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Experience with DBT is a plus
  • Experience with feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment and serving
  • Comfortable working with large-scale datasets
  • Proficiency with Git
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Airflow, MLFlow
  • Experience with demand forecasting or pricing is a plus
  • Strong team player, willing to share knowledge and help others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Self-starter, autonomous, collaborative
