Description and Requirements
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to lead the strategic transformation of our Global Contracts Team (GCT). This senior role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing a scalable global contracts operating model that enables the organization to deliver high-quality legal support consistently and efficiently across regions. Working closely with Global Contracts leadership, Legal Operations, and key business stakeholders, you will drive organizational transformation across people, processes, technology, governance, and knowledge management. This position requires extensive experience leading global contracting transformation initiatives within complex multinational organizations and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the global contracts function strategy in partnership with Global Contracts leadership and Legal Operations.
Design and implement a scalable global operating model that drives efficiency, consistency, quality, and effective risk management across regions.
Lead end-to-end transformation programs, including organizational redesign, process optimization, and integration of teams during periods of organizational change.
Establish governance frameworks, service standards, performance metrics, and reporting capabilities for the global contracts organization.
Review, standardize, and enhance contracting processes across the contract lifecycle while accommodating regional business and regulatory requirements.
Partner with Legal Operations to define and deliver the contracts technology roadmap, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) and workflow automation solutions.
Develop and implement knowledge management frameworks, including templates, playbooks, clause libraries, training materials, and document governance practices.
Collaborate with legal, business, procurement, compliance, IT, and other stakeholders to drive adoption of new ways of working and deliver strategic transformation initiatives.
Position Requirements
Law degree and qualification to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
12+ years of post-qualification legal experience, including significant experience supporting or leading global commercial contracts functions.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale contracts transformation programs within multinational organizations.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing global operating models, organizational structures, and governance frameworks.
Strong understanding of commercial contracting processes, contract lifecycle management, process improvement methodologies, and operational excellence principles.
Experience partnering with Legal Operations teams and leading legal technology implementations, including CLM platforms and workflow automation tools.
Professional fluency in English, with excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
Strong project and program management capabilities, stakeholder management expertise, and the ability to influence senior leaders across global organizations.
