As the Registered Nurse - Medical Advice, Triage and Referral Services (MATRS) Clinician you will have exceptional phone handling and administration skills. About the Role As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for providing quality clinical advice to patients. The MATRS Clinician is responsible for the clinical assessment, triage and provision of medical advice to Eligible Personnel via the 1800 IMSICK and All Hours Support Line (ASL) 24-hour telephone service. MATRS Clinicians shall be supported by contemporary clinical decision support tools and standard scripting as approved by the Commonwealth and in accordance with applicable professional standards, legislation and Defence Policies and Procedures. To be successful in this role, you will have: • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). • Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) Post Graduate experience within the last 5 years. • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA. • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification. • Demonstrated experience and competency with or without a qualification in venepuncture and cannulation. • Ability to use DeHS and other relevant Commonwealth ICT Systems (desirable). • Demonstrated experience and competency with or without a qualification in immunisation and vaccination administration (desirable). • Knowledge and application of Australasian Triage Scale in a variety of circumstances in both acute clinical and mental health scenarios (desirable).
