POSITION OVERVIEW Based at our Gauteng branch , in oder to further strengthen our global Quality team , we are currently seeking a: QC Technologist – ( Johannesburg, South Africa ) Reporting directly to the QC/QA Manager , the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for: Ensure quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product Follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards. III. – KEY TASKS Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process. Responsible for monitoring critical control points (CCP). Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required. Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation. Perform QC analysis on raw material, in process and finished goods Participate in internal audits, GMP audits, process verification audits Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices. Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards. Responsible to issue disciplinary action when directed. Maintain lab retention sample Maintain sampling plan for all products. Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. IV. – JOB REQUIREMENTS Matric (Grade 12) and a National Diploma in Food Technology or relevant qualification At least 1-2 years’ experience in QC - food manufacturing environment Proven analytical strengths and experience. Computer literacy: MS Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Fluency of speech and a courteous disposition are key aspects of the job. Social interactions with other persons extend to line managers, executive management and customers. Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite. Ability to read and write in English and any other language(s) Good personality, hardworking, team work, service orientated, creative, innovative, trustworthy, open to learn from feedback.
