Your role
When you join our team, you’ll become a key contributor to Global R&D Product Development group, helping to shape the future of steel for Automotive. As part of this dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to pilot projects and product development, explore new ideas, understand the market needs, and turn advanced research into real, high-performing products matching customers’ needs. You will act as a key interface between the R&D labs, European customers, and the Global PHS development team.
As Product Development manager – Press Hardening Steel, your role and responsibility will be:
Management of New Product Development:
- To pilot R&D projects in the field Press Hardening Steels development for Automotive
- Ensure a good coordination between different ArcelorMittal Global R&D Labs
- Translate business needs into R&D projects and ensure R&D objectives are well aligned with stakeholders expectations
- Contribute to the technical and economic analysis of the projects, assessment of value creation
- Make sure product conception is well completed on time, follow industrialization with pilot plant
- Prepare new product industrialization together with the plants
- Prepare new product deployment together with the commercial organization
- Managing interfaces with the labs and plants
- Assist in preparing technical communication kits
- Ensure product deployments and customer interaction in Europe
Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree or a PhD in Materials Science or related field.
- You have a first experience as a materials engineer in an R&D environment.
- Expertise in Steel properties, processing, know-how of automotive industry is an advantage.
- You have the capacity of managing a large portfolio of projects spread in different labs with efficiency and focus.
- You are open to travel.
- You are fluent in English and French (spoken and written).
