The Process Design Engineer will play a key role in developing high-quality process designs for water, wastewater, desalination, and sludge treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, company standards, and local and international regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise in process engineering, excellent multidisciplinary coordination skills, and the ability to deliver design outputs within schedule, quality requirements, and allocated engineering budgets. The Process Design Engineer shall be capable of carrying out process design studies during proposal, basic engineering, and detailed design phases while supporting project execution activities across Southeast Asia and the wider SUEZ Global E C organization, as required. 1. Process Design Engineering Prepare conceptual, basic, and detailed process designs for water, wastewater, desalination, and sludge treatment projects during both Proposal and Execution phases. Develop and maintain Design and Calculation Notes Process Calculation Reports Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Mass Balances Piping Instrumentation Diagrams (P IDs) Process Control Philosophies Process Design Reports Evaluate alternative process configurations and recommend the most technically suitable and commercially competitive solutions. Review process guarantees and ensures compliance with project performance requirements. Coordinate with SUEZ Process Experts, Technical Advisors, and Subject Matter Experts as required to validate design assumptions, review critical process decisions, and ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards. 2. Process and Hydraulic Calculations Perform process calculations including: Treatment process sizing Chemical consumption calculations Sludge production calculations Equipment sizing verification Energy consumption assessments Depending on the project, the Process Design Engineer may be involved in Hydraulic Calculations such as: Network Hydraulics Pressure Line Hydraulics (Pump and Line) Gravity Line Hydraulics Plant Hydraulics Hydraulic Gradient Line Pressure Line Hydraulics (Pump and Line) Valve Hydraulics Coordinate with process and hydraulic specialists and internal technical experts when required. 3. Cost Estimation and Proposal Support Support proposal development activities by: Preparing process design inputs Defining process equipment requirements Providing sizing criteria Supporting CAPEX and OPEX evaluations Reviewing technical specifications / Preparation of Process Datasheets Support in providing technical clarifications during tender stages Coordinate with procurement, electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure consistency in proposal submissions. 4. Project Coordination and Multidisciplinary Interface Management Interface with: Installation Piping Engineers (P ID) Mechanical Engineers Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation Control Engineers Commissioning Teams Review discipline deliverables impacted by process requirements, including: Equipment lists Instrument lists Line lists Control philosophies Ensure process requirements are fully integrated into the overall plant design. Respond to Client, Consultant, and Owner's Engineer comments related to submitted process engineering deliverables, ensuring timely resolution of technical queries and incorporation of approved comments into the design documentation. Coordinate with relevant SUEZ global engineering centers, technology teams, and business units to obtain process design inputs, technical guidance, lessons learned, and design validation necessary for project execution and tendering activities. 5. Standards Technical Compliance Ensure all process designs comply with: Local Requirements Philippine environmental regulations DOH / DENR requirements Water utility standards Local authority requirements International Standards ISO Standards International wastewater treatment best practices SUEZ Engineering Standards Participate in technical reviews including: HAZOP Design Reviews Operability Studies Availability Studies 6. HSE Responsibilities (Proposal and Execution Phases) HSE in the Proposal and Design Phase Integrate HSE requirements into process designs to ensure safe operation, maintenance accessibility, and risk mitigation throughout the plant lifecycle. Conduct Design Risk Assessments (DRA) and identify hazards associated with: Chemical handling systems Process equipment operation Sludge treatment systems Confined spaces Maintenance activities Participate in HAZOP and other risk assessment workshops as required. HSE in the Construction Phase Provide process engineering support to site HSE resources when required and assist in resolving process-related safety concerns. 7. Quality Responsibilities (Proposal and Execution Phases) Quality in the Proposal and Design Phase Ensure all process engineering deliverables comply with: Company Quality Procedures (OMEGA, Eureka) Project Specifications Contract Requirements Engineering Standards Maintain proper documentation and traceability of design calculations and decisions. Quality in the Construction Phase Provide technical support during commissioning activities and assist site quality teams when required. 8. Knowledge Management Lessons Learned (REX) Identify, document, and report lessons learned from: Proposal activities Process design activities Commissioning activities Plant performance evaluations Contribute to the development of: Design templates Standard calculation tools Process engineering best practices Technical guidelines Participate in technical reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the engineering organization. 9. Technical Audits and Due Diligence Support technical evaluations and audits of: Technology providers Equipment suppliers Engineering partners Process subcontractors Provide technical assessments during proposal and execution phases as required.
