About the Lavarack Health Centre
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0730-1600 Monday – Friday
What you’ll do
Work Monday to Friday delivering safe and accurate dispensing services in line with clinical standards
Managing medication inventory and supporting efficient pharmacy operations
Promoting safe and effective use of medications for patients and clinicians
Providing technical advice and support to health practitioners
Ensuring compliance with legislation, Defence policies, and quality standards
What you bring
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
Minimum 2 years’ post-internship experience in hospital, community, or defence pharmacy
Strong understanding of medication safety, dispensing, and inventory management
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional standards
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Membership of PSA or SHPA (desirable)
Australian Citizenship to obtain required security clearance
