Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an End-to-end Engineering manager (m/f) to join the « OneSat Chief Engineering» department located in Toulouse Palays Site, France.

For OneSat applications programs, you will be responsible for leading End-to-End Engineering activities including management of system requirements, system architecture definition and justification and interfacing with customer for end-to-end and ground system architecture topics

The present role might require some occasional travels in France/Europe/World to customer premises to fulfil business needs and necessitates security clearance.

Your challenges:

  • Understand and capture Customer telecommunication mission needs (air interface, operations, ground segment/space segment compatibility, user terminals),

  • Consolidation of System Concept of Operations taking into account Customer constraints, OneSat product portfolio definition (specifications, design, …),

  • Consolidate customer external and internal system interfaces definition,

  • Regular interface with ground components, satellite and operation experts to define a suitable system solution for the customer,

  • Support system IVV activities for the program,

  • Continuous monitoring and planification of the end-to-end activities, ensure technical problem solving on time, on quality and on cost,

  • Organization and participation to technical system workshops related to the project scope,

  • Prepare and participate to project reviews with customers including data pack elaboration on system topics,

  • Support customer project manager in the tracking and negotiation of contractual technical changes related to system aspects as result of project evolutions or customer complementary requirements

Your profile:

  • Master degree level (or equivalent) in telecommunication engineering,

  • At least 5 years of experience in satellite telecommunications engineering,

  • Knowledge of ground segment (operations, user terminals, gateways),

  • Knowledge of payload operations and design,

  • System engineering knowledge including requirement management,

  • Ability to synthesize information, formalize trade-offs and take associated technical decisions,

  • Good communication skills (internally & externally) and ability to work/interface/cooperate with different engineering entities,

  • Team spirit, Autonomy, adaptability,

  • Language Skills: English at negotiation level.
