We're looking for an exceptional lawyer to support Amazon's Operations group. Our work is intellectually challenging, exciting and fast-paced. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business. Like everyone at Amazon, we’re passionate about our customers. The Legal Counsel will lead support for Amazon’s operations in France and Belgium. You will be responsible for structuring, drafting and negotiating different types of commercial contracts, providing sound and pragmatic advice to the business and solving complex problems. These may include litigation or commercial transactions, regulatory engagements and challenges, privacy compliance, licensing and construction, support to projects to enhance safety of the network, among others.
You will be responsible for developing and executing legal and advocacy strategies, in collaboration with other Legal stakeholders and Public Policy teams.
The role is based in Amazon’s corporate offices in Clichy, Paris.
A day in the life
You will be based in our Clichy office in Paris and serve as trusted legal counsel to Amazon's Operations teams across France and Belgium. Our lawyers value working alongside and in person with their business clients and local legal teams to tackle the diverse and evolving challenges of running one of the world's most sophisticated logistics networks.
You will be a legal and strategic partner for Operations leaders on matters ranging from daily operational issues to long-term infrastructure planning. You will own drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements with different logistics and service partners that keep our fulfillment network running. You will advise on regulatory compliance, privacy matters, and safety initiatives—helping the business navigate complex European regulations while maintaining our commitment to employee wellbeing and customer experience.
Working directly with operations colleagues, you will serve as lead counsel on strategic projects including network expansion, automation initiatives, and sustainability programs. You will develop and execute legal and advocacy strategies in collaboration with Public Policy teams, engaging with regulators and industry stakeholders on issues that shape the future of logistics in France and Belgium. You will also research emerging legal issues providing pragmatic guidance that enables the business to innovate while managing risk effectively.
