Job Summary
Provides excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. Answers questions, provides information as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bi-lingual (a plus)
Job Responsibilities
Assists all customers in selecting required materials in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
Provide occasional operational support to Miami/Dade/Broward counties.
Informs customer of available products, and ensures the customer is exposed to the full product line
Answers phone calls and provides prices quotes and other information
Follow-up on customer orders, resolve problems to the customer’s satisfaction, respond timely to customer needs
Continuously update product knowledge through any available resources. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Know location of merchandise in yard
Data entry and retrieval on computer system, including entering of customer orders, branch transfers, obtain quotation information, inventory information, pricing
Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc.
Assist in maintaining appearance of branch as needed, straightening, cleaning counter area, warehouse, bathrooms, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to carry out not only simple, but complex oral and written instructions and deal with problems from standardized situations and work experience
Good mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions and conversions of four-five digit numbers and common units of measurement in both metric and decimal system
Ability to communicate well with supervisors, welders, leadmen, other Mechanics, maintenance personnel, co-workers and outside contractors
Ability to identify and select the appropriate material and equipment necessary to perform the correct order processing
High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely and productively
Working Conditions
Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, working outdoors and ready mix locations
Must wear protective equipment while at the location
Physical Requirements
Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls
Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely
