The Position

IT/OT Data Engineer H/F

Job Summary

The IT/OT team implements and enforces standards and policies as defined by the Group. The IT/OT team designs, deploys and supports regional and Business areas specific solutions and applications. 

The IT/OT Data Engineer is responsible for collecting, storing and manipulating data related to the manufacturing activity. 


The added value of a Data Engineer is developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining the architectures that allow a Data Scientist and Data Analyst to perform their work.
 

Responsibilities

  •  Roll out projects designed by the IT/OT team and the group (standard data collection-OPC UA, Industrie 4.0 projects)

  • Connecting the shop floor

  • Ensure continuous data collection to enable  the move to Imerys Smart factory

    • Collect & contextualize : clean and prepare raw, structured and unstructured data for analysis using OPC UA data models capabilities

    • Organize comprehensive data set 

  • Data Architecture 

    • Develop, build, test and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems

    • Align architecture with business requirements

  • Employ variety of languages to ensure systems communicate with each other 

  • Build data pipelines,Track pipeline stability, Monitor the overall performance and stability of the system

  • Build algorithms and prototypes, Prepare data for predictive modeling

  • Experience working with AWS services 

  • Conduct complex data analysis and report on results 

  • Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects

  • Data optimization 

    • Identify opportunities for data acquisition 

    • Develop and implement strategies (databases, data collection systems, data analytics…) that optimize data reliability, efficiency and quality

  • Escalate in case of conflicts regarding several activities inside his projects

  • Take responsibility for support level 2 and 3 management

  • Interact with Infrastructure teams to ensure the performance of the application portfolio

  • Create Exploitation manual documentation for Industrial applications portfolio 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in automation, Information Systems, or Engineering.

  • 5 years of professional hands-on experience with application management and industrial digital platforms.

  • Extensive experience implementing, migrating, managing, operating systems/applications and local industrial interfaces. 

  • Strong knowledge about automation solutions, IIOT.

  • Strong business knowledge in an Industrial environment.

  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of application architecture.

  • AWS data analytics 

  • Machine learning

  • Fluent or native English speaker.

Desirable

  • Experience working on the implementation of  data lake/data warehouse environments.

  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company

  • Experience in multidisciplinary team management

  • Conversant in French or another European language would be advantageous

  • AWS data analytics OR Machine learning certification is a plus
