Short Intro and About the Job Join us in an exciting opportunity to shape and embed a strong, sustainable health and safety culture within our Auckland manufacturing operations. As the Health and Safety Manager , you will lead the site Health and Safety strategy, ensuring safety is fully integrated into how we plan, operate, and grow. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Plant Leadership Team, you will influence decision‑making beyond the safety function, develop leadership capability, and enable a proactive zero‑harm culture across the value stream. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Owning and continuously evolving the site Health and Safety strategy and roadmap, aligned with business, regional, and global priorities Embedding health and safety into operational, technical, and change initiatives across manufacturing Lead and continuously improve the site Health & Safety strategy in line with local, regional, and global objectives. Leading health and safety performance, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement Driving strong incident management, investigations, and learning across the site Leading, coaching, and developing the Health and Safety team and broader leadership community Building strong internal and external partnerships, including regulators, contractors, and key stakeholders Championing a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and shared ownership of health and safety About You You are a confident and values‑led safety professional who enjoys influencing, coaching, and partnering with leaders to create meaningful and lasting impact. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution, and you are comfortable operating in a complex manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and compliance are critical. Ideally, you will have: A relevant Health and Safety qualification, ideally supported by tertiary study in health and safety, engineering, food science, or manufacturing Prior experience of Integrated Work System (IWS) or any other continuous improvement methodologies Significant experience leading Health and Safety in a large, complex operational or manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and standards Proven experience embedding safety systems, frameworks, and culture in manufacturing settings Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and coach leaders Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem‑solving skills A collaborative and inclusive leadership style aligned to Danone’s values Experience within food or dairy manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
