The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team to ensure the successful planning, design, execution, and delivery of maintenance, capital projects, and technical initiatives. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, optimizing resources, and supporting business objectives through effective engineering solutions and team leadership.
Main Duties:
Assist the Assistant Director of Engineering in the planning, coordination, and execution of all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations across the property.
Supervise, lead, and monitor engineering technicians and tradespersons, ensuring high standards of workmanship, productivity, attendance, and safety compliance.
Plan, allocate, and oversee preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repairs, and project activities to ensure optimal asset reliability and operational efficiency.
Assist in technical evaluations, cost estimates, and recommendations for maintenance activities, capital projects, equipment upgrades, and engineering improvements.
Conduct regular inspections of plant rooms, equipment, engineering facilities, and life safety systems, reporting abnormalities and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests, with particular focus on guest-related issues, operational priorities, and service standards.
Monitor compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, personally supervising hazardous work and enforcing safe work practices.
Coordinate engineering activities with internal departments, contractors, and external service providers to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.
Support the preparation and control of engineering budgets, purchase requests, spare parts inventory, and procurement of engineering materials and consumables.
Monitor utility consumption, energy conservation initiatives, and sustainability programs, preparing periodic reports and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Review engineering logs, maintenance records, technical reports, and asset performance data to ensure accurate documentation and effective operational control.
Train, coach, and develop engineering personnel through on-the-job guidance, performance management, and technical training, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline).
Minimum 6-7 years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, maintenance, and asset management practices.
Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractors.
Good understanding of HSE regulations, quality standards, and risk management processes.
Proficiency in engineering software, CMMS systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Professional engineering certification or project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline).
