We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Dispensary Team Lead to provide leadership across our Dispensary operation at Danone Nutricia Balclutha . This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient and compliant dispensing operations that support production performance — with a strong focus on stock accuracy, material availability, standardised ways of working and continuous improvement.
You’ll lead a team of Dispensary Technicians, build capability through training and coaching, and work closely with Planning, Production, Stores/Warehouse, Maintenance, and QFS to ensure the dispensary is always “production-ready”.
As Dispensary Team Lead, you will:
Lead safety and compliance
Champion a strong safety culture and support WISE initiatives
Drive hazard identification, corrective actions and Permit to Work processes
Ensure timely reporting and follow-up of incidents and near misses
Build team capability
Develop team skills through training plans and coaching
Maintain accurate training and competency records
Promote engagement in safety, quality and lean programmes
Drive performance and improvement
Lead performance management and build accountability
Facilitate problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Support IWS implementation and standardised ways of working
Ensure operational readiness
Translate production plans into micro ingredient requirements
Manage stock control, including weekly stock counts and replenishment
Coordinate supply to ensure materials are available to meet production needs
Maintain inventory and reporting discipline
Ensure FEFO, labelling compliance and traceability standards
Monitor deliveries, stock accuracy and SAP reporting (SOH/0007)
Lead stocktakes and investigate/report variances
Support daily operations
Maintain dispensary systems, documentation and compliance standards
Coordinate maintenance, staffing and payroll requirements
Provide hands-on support to ensure operational continuity during peak periods
About You
To be successful, you’ll have:
At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisory/leadership role
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams and shifts
Experience in food or dairy manufacturing (preferred)
A practical understanding of hygiene controls in a manufacturing environment
Confidence using systems and reporting tools (Excel/Word essential; SAP exposure is advantageous)
A continuous improvement mindset (Lean/DaMaWay experience favourable)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
Leadership capability — you’re able to coach, build accountability and develop others
Knowledge of HACCP principles (desirable)
Safety leadership training (preferred)
