It is home to the 1st Brigade & 1st Aviation Regiment. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2800 members, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services. It also operates a 22-bed low dependency ward 24/7. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. What you’ll do Deliver clinical dental services to Defence members Provide a full range of general dental care including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning and preventative care Undertake procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canal treatments, periodontal care and minor oral surgery Promote and maintain oral health through patient education, preventative strategies and ongoing care Use diagnostic tools including dental imaging to support clinical decision-making and treatment planning Maintain accurate clinical records using Defence eHealth systems and ensure compliance with governance frameworks Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes What you bring Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist with AHPRA Minimum two years’ full-time (or equivalent) post graduate clinical experience, with recent practice within the last five years Strong clinical capability across a broad range of general dentistry procedures Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification Australian Citizenship required for baseline security clearance Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care Who we are Serco supports governments by delivering essential services across defence, health, justice, maritime and community services.
