What you will do
Primary Purpose
To provide leadership, management, and strategic direction to the Dealership.
This role is accountable for the Dealerships Parts and Service safety and financial performance and is a key influencer and support for the VCV Sales activities.
This role oversees dealership operations including, safety, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, financial performance, strategic growth, market share and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a safety-first culture within the dealership.
Develop the strategy, budgets and business plans for the dealership.
Monitor dealership performance against targets and make recommendations and adjustments as necessary.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, driving a high level of service delivery and customer care.
Monitor and control company assets, including facilities, to ensure that all assets are maintained in an appropriate state to reflect the image of the Company.
Ensure compliance to all relevant regulations, legislation and company policy, procedures, and standards.
Grow market share and increase client base and market penetration in service/parts.
Identify and implement best practice and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Demonstrate a values-based leadership approach to develop an engaged, high performing workforce.
Drive internal communication, cooperation, and daily productivity by regularly meeting with Dealership management to review business operations, performance, safety and environmental compliance and adherence to VGA policies
Actively participate as a member of the VCV leadership team
Business/ Financial Management
Plan, allocate and manage relevant budget/s
Allocate capital and manage expenditure
Report on operations according to company timelines and standards
Effectively manage and allocate assets and company property
Manage and report on business performance
People Management
Plan, set and communicate team direction
Ensure clarity of expectations through accurate job profiles and objectives
Meet company timelines for performance and development planning
Coach, mentor and counsel staff to enhance performance and mitigate issues / conflicts
Increase capability and provide learning and development opportunities
Discuss and formalise career plans
Enhance engagement and effectively manage attrition
Recruit new team members and ensure adequate and timely resourcing
Develop a strong succession plan, including cross-skilling
Manage salary and incentive payments in conjunction with manager
Who are you?
Educational Qualifications
Tertiary Qualification in Business Management or related discipline or trade qualification in engineering / mechanics (desirable)
Business skills & attributes
Extensive Truck Industry and Commercial Operations experience
Diversified experience highly desirable (e.g. Service, Parts, Administration)
Advanced PC (Microsoft packages) and Volvo systems skills
Outstanding leadership ability
Advanced administration and business planning skills
Outstanding customer service, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact and influence at all levels both internally and externally
Experience in leadership roles and team building, ability to set goals and objectives which are readily understood and accepted by the organisation
