About the Role The Data Center Design Engineer – Cooling Systems will be based in Riyadh, KSA , and will lead the conceptual, detailed, and execution-stage design of advanced data centre cooling and associated infrastructure systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical cooling systems, along with solid coordination exposure to electrical infrastructure within mission-critical environments. You will collaborate closely with hyperscale clients, consultants, contractors, and internal product teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and energy-efficient facilities aligned with international standards and regional regulatory requirements. How You Will Make an Impact You will be a key driver in the design and delivery of reliable, energy-efficient, and scalable Data Center cooling and infrastructure systems, including Cooling & Thermal Design Design chilled water, DX, Adiabatic, IEEC, and Liquid Cooling Systems. Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and hydraulic analysis. Develop redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N, 2N+1) aligned with uptime requirements. Support high-density environments (30 - 100 kW per rack and above). Optimize airflow management, containment strategies, and white space layouts. Conduct or review CFD simulations for airflow and thermal performance. Electrical & Infrastructure Coordination Interface with MV/LV power distribution designs. Coordinate integration of UPS, generators, transformers, PDUs, and busways. Support grounding, bonding, and system resilience strategies. Engineering Delivery Produce complete design packages: schematics, datasheets, BOQs, and control sequences. Develop BIM models using Revit and prepare AutoCAD drawings. Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. Participate in technical workshops, design reviews, and value engineering sessions. Provide technical clarifications to procurement and construction teams. Support FAT, SAT, IST, and commissioning activities. Standards & Compliance ASHRAE TC9.9 guidelines Uptime Institute Tier Standards NFPA codes Telecommunications Industry Association TIA-942 International Organization for Standardization standards Local AHJ requirements in KSA & UAE What You Need to Succeed Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Center Cooling System Design , Mission-critical or telecom facilities, Industrial MEP infrastructure Hands-on experience in cooling system design for critical facilities. Practical knowledge of redundancy concepts and Tier methodologies. Strong BIM/Revit capability (mandatory). Exposure to CFD tools (6Sigma, ANSYS, Icepak) is preferred. Experience with high-density cooling solutions is highly valued. Knowledge of GCC HVAC market and Daikin product range is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders. Structured, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deliverables. Strong communication and presentation skills.
