Job Purpose: The Assistant Sales Manager – Leisure & MICE is accountable for proactively soliciting and managing sales opportunities in line with the annual business development and sales plan, and to achieve/exceed budget in executing the sales strategy of the Hotel. Generate new accounts and build relationships within assigned segments. Provide sufficient leads to achieve objectives and goals. Duties and Responsibilities: • Achieve daily and monthly targeted number of sales activities with effectiveness • Develop business leads for the Hotel on a weekly basis • Prepare monthly list of accounts to penetrate for the following month • Plan a minimum of 2 site inspections/entertainment meetings per week to qualified potential accounts or new accounts • Update Director of Sales on market trends and business leads • Prepare monthly action plan for main market segment and implement an account development plan for key accounts to achieve maximum revenue in both short and long term • Perform monthly review account profile on room nights production and average rate • Monitor competitors’ rate strategy, account penetration and marketing activities to maintain a competitive edge • Fully responsible of accounts under his/her management to achieve financial and non-financial objectives, including contracting, updating profile and renewing contracts • Solicit new and existing corporate/group/catering accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication • Up-sell, cross-sell and promote Hotel facilities & services at every available opportunity in order to maximize sales revenue • Conduct negotiations to achieve the best profit and rates for The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon • Attend hotel clients and local community business events to network and maintain high visibility • Identify and communicate ideas, customer expectations from assigned segments and territory • Update management and other departments on VIP arrivals, meet and greet accordingly • Attend overseas trade shows, key clients events, FAM trips and sales trip as planned, submitted and approved at the beginning of each year and updated calendar at each quarter • Ensure that all accounts profile, all sales reports and any other relevant information are updated • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information • Follow company and department policies and procedures • Ensure dress-code and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records in a 5 star hotel • Bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality or related field • Excellent verbal, reading and written communication skills • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, employees and management to their understanding • Ability to achieve sales targets and work in a highly pressurized environment • A team player and builder • A motivator and self starter • Desire to succeed and passion to lead Physical Requirements: • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing X lbs. without assistance • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping • Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time Job Purpose: The Assistant Sales Manager – Leisure & MICE is accountable for proactively soliciting and managing sales opportunities in line with the annual business development and sales plan, and to achieve/exceed budget in executing the sales strategy of the Hotel.
