Reporting to the Hotel Accountant and Director of Finance, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy of hotel revenue, maintaining financial controls, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with cost management initiatives across the hotel.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys analysing financial data, improving processes, and partnering with operational teams to drive business performance.
Main Responsibilities
Income Audit & Revenue Control
Review and audit daily revenue transactions across all hotel departments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage and other operating departments
Reconcile revenue postings, cash collections, credit card settlements, city ledger accounts and bank deposits
Investigate revenue discrepancies and unusual transactions
Prepare and distribute daily revenue and management reports
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, internal controls and audit requirements
Financial Reporting & General Accounting
Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports for operational departments
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Assist with internal and external audit requirements
Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
Cost Control & Inventory Management
Monitor food, beverage and operating supply costs
Analyse cost variances and identify opportunities to improve profitability
Participate in inventory counts and stock reconciliations
Review purchasing transactions and supplier documentation
Prepare monthly cost analysis and inventory valuation reports
Work closely with Purchasing, Receiving, Stores, Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure effective cost control

Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Income Auditor, Cost Controller or similar accounting role
Hospitality industry experience is highly desirable
Sound understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
Highly motivated, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively

Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
