This role combines technical troubleshooting, application administration, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. You'll help maintain the stability of critical business and operational applications while identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability and user experience. Working closely with vendors, project teams, operational stakeholders and other ICT teams, you'll help ensure applications remain secure, available and fit for purpose, while contributing to service excellence across a complex healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Manage daily application operations, incidents and service requests using ITIL Incident and Problem Management practices. Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for business-critical applications. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, database and integration issues across client and server environments. Coordinate application upgrades, patches, releases and testing activities through Change and Release Management processes. Monitor application performance, availability and operational health in line with User and Stakeholder requirements and contractual obligations Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to problem management and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, system workflows and knowledge articles. Work closely with vendors and internal teams to manage risks, resolve defects and improve application stability. Participate in application enhancement, optimisation and modernisation initiatives. Support on-call and after-hours activities as required. Serco is a place for you Essential Experience & Skills Experience supporting enterprise business applications in a complex operational environment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working within ITIL-aligned service management practices. Experience managing incidents, service requests, problems and changes. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently. Desirable Experience & Skills Strong database skills including SQL development, troubleshooting and optimisation. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL environments. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, reporting and data analysis. Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira or BMC Helix. Understanding of software testing methodologies and test automation practices. Experience with scripting or development languages such as C#, Python or PowerShell. Experience using source control tools such as Git. Knowledge of application integration technologies and standards including HL7, SOAP, REST and JSON. Experience working in healthcare or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
