Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will innovate, design and build best in class connectivity solutions. You will work on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth BR/EDR, BLE and 802.15.4 based technologies such as ZigBee and Thread. You will work closely with the hardware, software, operations, quality assurance teams and silicon partners to make our products a reality. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. Key job responsibilities As an Antenna Design Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, design, optimization, implementation and test. You must be responsive, flexible, attentions to details and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and integration of Antenna systems into products, including: Define antenna concepts and requirements during product definition Lead antenna design, optimization, implementation and validation across product programs Identify, debug and resolve system level Antenna-RF issues Achieve all regulatory and performance goals for OTA performance Support the operations team for Antenna manufacturing test Support the sustaining team for Antenna sustaining and field issues Work within a project team and take responsibility for the Wi-Fi, BT implementation Characterize and debug desense and EMI issues to meet requirements Mentor team members. This position will require international travel Basic Qualifications - 7+ years’ experience in antenna design related to 5G-LTE technologies, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, IOT products - Track record of designing small form factor devices including handheld devices, smartphones and/or wearable technology - Experience with prototyping and implementation of complex antenna designs - Expert in simulation tools like CST, HFSS, ADS etc. Preferred Qualifications - Ph.D. degree in antenna, EM and related fields - Experience designing small form factor device, work on <1GHz antenna designs in consumer electronics - Ability to be fungible with work across RF, Desense and SI/PI engineering Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
