About the Unit Yara Africa Fertilizer (Pty) Ltd has an opportunity for a Graduate Agronomist. This position will be based in the Potchefstroom area of the the North West Province. This is an entry-levy position designed to provide hands-on experience in fertilizer recommendations, soil management and sustainable farming under the mentorship of experienced agronomists. Responsibilities Field Scouting and Data Collection: Monitoring crops for pests, weeds, and diseases, and conducting soil and water samples. Field Trials and Research: Assisting with the design, planting, and management of research trials, including testing new fertilizer regimes or seed varieties. Data Analysis: Using Microsoft Excel and agricultural software to compile and interpret trial data for technical reports. Client Support: Assisting experienced agronomists with grower meetings, promoting sustainable farming practices, and providing technical advice. Equipment Management: Calibrating field equipment and managing seed stocks. Sustainability Focus: Researching and promoting environmentally sound practices to improve soil health and water conservation.
