The AXA XL US Regulatory unit provides support for rates for new and existing products for all major lines of business. The unit is also responsible for annual data calls for workers compensation and maintaining a pulse on industry issues important to US businesses. As an Analyst in the unit, you will work with business actuaries and underwriters to develop the support needed to gain approval from state regulators for rates. The role will also support the annual workers’ compensation data calls used by rating bureaus for loss cost filings and will be engaged in projects related to current industry issues. This position will support the Actuary for Regulatory. What you’ll be doing What will your essential responsibilities include? Providing statistical support to all circulars and bulletins issued to determine the impact on AXA XL’s rates. Assisting in completing all necessary data calls and nationwide state rate filings for multiple lines of business including Workers Compensation, General and Auto Liability, Inland Marine, Crime and others. Providing any statistical data and exhibits needed to submit filings to the respective Department of Insurance and assisting in responses to filing objections from the Insurance Departments. Assist in analyzing and responding to current issues affecting US businesses. This position will support the Actuary for Regulatory. What you will BRING We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics or Actuarial Sciences or related area which may include Statistics or Computer Science or Information Technology. Recent graduates will be considered for this role. A preference for candidates who possess hands-on actuarial experience seeking exposure to multiple lines of business. Workers’ Compensation background is a plus. Commencement of Actuarial Examinations is a plus but not required. A strategic thinker who can shape innovative ideas into creative ways to analyze data to derive new methods of supporting pricing. Outstanding attention to detail skills needed to recognize data inconsistencies. A strong communicator who can adeptly work with varied teams using active listening skills while interjecting positive and valuable ideas into the discussion. An individual who can interact with peers collaboratively within a small cohesive team while also focusing on self-supported completing tasks in a timely and proficient manner. The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 61,100 - 101,500. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
