About the Role

Springer Health+ France provides medical communications and education services to the local French affiliates of pharmaceutical companies, as well to the head office of those pharma companies who have their Global HQs in France.

Our dedicated team of sales, project management and editorial staff oversees the production of a full range of print and digital deliverables, including scientific papers and manuscripts, medical education programs, podcasts, websites and advisory boards, clinical meeting reports and many other forms of medical writing and scientific contents.

Springer Health+ France has an opportunity for someone who is looking to propel their career in medical communication & education as Account Director, shaping the formation of a new client services team.  We are seeking a confident leader who, working closely with the Head of Springer Health+ France, is experienced at building cohesive, culturally aware teams based on authenticity, openness and collaboration. In addition, you will be the main agency leader for an assigned client portfolio, responsible for managing relationships, driving revenue, and ensuring satisfaction. Your role will be a combination of client service and new business development. You need to be good at generating organic account growth in addition to new business, as well as overseeing both strategic and tactical initiatives. As an agency leader, you’ll be reporting into the head of Springer Health+ France, and you’ll be member of the French leadership team. You will lead a team of 2-3 account managers and executives.

Role Responsibilities:

Client Services

  • Act as a client partner and trusted strategic advisor for medical communication matters

  • Build and maintain relationships and trust for both existing and new clients

  • Define expectations for “best in class” client service across the team

  • Demonstrate creativity and conceptual thinking on client programs and projects

  • Develop a solid understanding of clients’ pharma business to provide strategic counsel and convert opportunities into brief and winning recommendations

  • Lead all the RFP process from the client brief to final recommendation with the support of the senior team.

  • Develop project scope of work, budgeting and planning

  • Create and execute annual customer growth plan

  • Ensure client feedback and reviews occur and inform future way of working

  • Analyze project/program performance, build case studies and recommend future solutions.

  • Champion outstanding collaboration between cross-functional teams to maximize project success and delivery times

  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to team members effectively on all projects.

  • Provide leadership to account managers, oversee performance reviews, support career development

Finance

  • Develop and maintain account P&L management, profitability and overall financial performance

  • Analyze sales performance and revenue forecast in collaboration with the Head of Springer Health+ France

  • Proactively managing shortfalls and submitting annual targets based on client insights

  • Oversee the full client financial process, including approving client and supplier invoices

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Academic qualifications in medicine, pharmaceutical or life sciences and extensive experience within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Demonstrable account management experience within health communication agencies

  • Demonstrated track record of successful development of local and global pharma accounts

  • Self-motivated team player excelling in a fast-paced, innovative environment and routinely adapting to an evolving business

  • Outstanding organizational, analytical and commercial skills

  • Skills in leading, mentoring and developing teams

  • Strong time management, financial oversight and project management capabilities

  • Proficient in financial forecasting and profitability analysis

  • Strong networking within the pharma industry 

  • French native with excellent oral and written communication skills in English (B1/C2)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and account planning

  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally a few times a year.
